  1. Thank you for another fantastic week of home learning and thank you to families that have shared what the children have been doing with the teachers, it is really great to see how creative you are being with the learning and it really cheers the teachers up to have the regular contact with the children. We are going to send you a separate letter about a new learning platform we want to launch after Easter which will help with sharing learning between home and school and one that we can develop further once the children are all back in school. As you are, we are still finding our feet with how best to tackle remote learning and try to provide some consistency as we realise for families with children in different year groups this is important. Just a reminder that there will be no home learning over the Easter holidays to give everyone a rest but teachers will have everything ready to start again on Monday 20th April. We will be keeping school open over the holidays for 3 days each week to provide child care for our key workers.

We realise that this period of change can be really difficult for us all including the children and I have provided a link to a great well being booklet which may be useful to look at with your children and chat about over the holidays, it has some lovely activities in to complete together  -

It will be a very different Easter for us all and without the chance to attend church I have included a link to Easter reflection, music and prayer for families should you wish to use it.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish all our families a very happy and holy Easter. We hope that you can enjoy the break together and the sun shines so we can make best use of our daily exercise as a family and children can enjoy playing outside in gardens too helping  us all to keep positive and reminding us that there definitely is light at the end of the tunnel.

Best wishes from all the team at English Martyrs,

    Alison Chambers

  2. Welcome to week 2 of our very different school, I hope you are all well and ready to start your home learning. I have been so impressed with all that you did in week 1 and the fun ways of learning that you have shared with the teachers, keep it up you are all using your learning muscles which is fantastic!

Remember to help your parents as this is a new experience for them too, and they will need your help, use all of the resilience strategies to help you and your family. This week we are going to focus on 'I' which is involve others. This will be brilliant for our home learning as we need to try and involve as many other people in our learning safely, and this includes your teachers who are here to help in any way they can as well as get new ideas from you!

Try to remember a morning and evening prayer daily with your families, I have put one at the end of the blog you may want to say this week at the end of your day , if anybody wants to write a prayer to share email it to me with parent’s permission and I can include it next week.

Lastly watch my video below to find out what I have been up to this weekend !

Look after one another and have fun this week !

    Missing you all,

    Mrs Chambers

Dear God, we thank you tonight for the good day and for the special way you take care of us all the time. Thank you for the fun times outside and the quiet times inside, and for helping us learn new things every day. Amen
