Welcome to English Martyrs CVA, Oakham
Welcome to the English Martyrs Catholic Voluntary Academy website. We are a small Voluntary Aided Catholic Academy with 134 children aged between 4 - 11 yrs old on roll. We are part of the St Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Multi Academy Trust together with 13 other primary schools and two secondary schools across Lincolnshire. We are happy to welcome children of any faith or none to join us in our friendly school.
We are very proud of our school and we enjoy being part of an active and friendly community. We provide a broad and balanced curriculum setting high expectations and encouraging all our children to achieve their potential before leaving us in year 6. Our mission statement below explains how we want our children to lead their lives, and our school values of excellence, determination, respect, equality, friendship, courage and inspiration help them to achieve this.
We would welcome you visiting us before you decide to join us to ensure that you are making the best decision for your child. For the latest news please see the tab marked 'news' and also take a look at the weekly school newsletter.
“ We grow and learn as a family in the footsteps of Jesus.”
We're All In This Together!
This is a thank you from all the staff to all the parents and children for amazing resilience during our time away from school. We can't wait to be all together again in September and wish all our families a happy and relaxing summer holiday. We hope this makes you smile!
Our new classroom is coming along nicely and we are hoping that it may be finished for Christmas! The new classroom will mean we can have single year groups across the school and increase our planned admission numbers to allow our amazing school community to grow whilst still retaining class sizes under 30. We will keep you updated with any news on the build!
English Martyrs is top of the tables!
Following the release of the school performance tables this year, our school sits proudly at the top of all Rutland schools for attainment in combined reading, writing and maths at the end of 2018/2019. Click here to view the tables.

We are thrilled to have received our accreditation for being a Route to Resilience school . We completed a programme on an evidence-based and practical approach to supporting schools and families in their work developing the emotional wellbeing and resilience of children and young people.
Platinum School Games Award!
We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the Platinum School Games Award - one better than our previous Gold award and the only school in Rutland to achieve this! Read more about it on our Sports page.
